Falter should get a chance to pitch in the Pirates rotation after they dealt Rich Hill earlier in the day. He started the season in the Phillies rotation before struggling and being sent down. This is his second chance at a first impression.
What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
Castro had fallen behind the other top prospects in Pittsburgh's infield, leading to him being demoted recently. With Josh Harrison being designated for assignment, Castro could play a bench role in Philly. Similar to Falter, he gets a fresh start.
