BREWERS BRING IN BAUERS
The Milwaukee Brewers acquired first baseman/outfielder Jake Bauers from the New York Yankees for outfielders Jace Avina and Brian Sanchez.
What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers have struggled to find consistency at the first base position in recent years. Therefore, Bauers has a great opportunity to become an everyday player in Milwaukee.
What does it give the New York Yankees
Both Avina and Sanchez are young outfield prospects with plenty of room to develop. So, the Yankees did well to acquire both of them in exchange for Bauers (who was a backup in the Bronx).
Fantasy impact
Bauers might become Milwaukee's everyday first baseman in 2024. At worst, he will likely form a platoon. Keep an eye on him in spring training, as he might be a fantasy sleeper next season. Both Avina and Sanchez are now on the keeper radar.
