BENDIX BRINGS IN SOME FAMILIAR FACES

The Miami Marlins acquired infielder/outfielder Vidal Brujan and pitcher Calvin Faucher from the Tampa Bay Rays for pitcher Andrew Lindsey, infielder Erick Lara and a player to be named later or cash considerations.

What does it give the Miami Marlins
New Marlins president of baseball operations Peter Bendix is a former Rays executive, so he knows both Brujan and Faucher very well. Both players could play a role in Miami in 2024.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays are always looking to trade veterans for prospects, so this deal is no exception. Lindsey is a decent starter prospect out of the NCAA ranks, while Lara is a very young shortstop.

Fantasy impact
Brujan could play more with Miami than he did in Tampa Bay, either as an everyday player or in a utility role. Lindsey and Lara are on the keeper radar, while Faucher is a depth reliever with very little fantasy upside.
