Bethancourt is another former Ray that the Marlins have brought in this off-season. With Jacob Stallings still a free agent, Bethancourt will likely share time behind the plate with Nick Fortes in 2024. He is a solid addition for Miami at this time.
What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
After signing Austin Hedges as a free agent earlier, the Guardians had a surplus of catchers. In return for moving Bethancourt, a player they acquired off waivers, Cleveland is receiving cash. Hedges should back up Bo Naylor in 2024.
