CORBIN BURNES TO BALTIMORE!

The Baltimore Orioles acquired pitcher Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers for pitcher DL Hall, infielder Joey Ortiz and a supplemental first-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 34 overall).

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
In Burnes, the Orioles add one of the game's best starting pitchers to their rotation. The 2021 Cy Young winner has just one season remaining on his contract, but he will become the new ace of Baltimore's pitching staff. By adding a quality arm like Burnes to the front of their starting rotation, the Orioles will look to dominate the American League East division once again in 2024. They will likely enter spring training as the favorites.

What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
This trade makes Milwaukee younger. Both Hall and Ortiz are ready to prove themselves in MLB and should now get that opportunity. The left-handed Hall performed well in a small sample last season (3.26 ERA, 23 K in 19 IP). He may get a shot at a rotation spot but could end up in the Brewers bullpen. Ortiz is an infielder who has hit for contact and some power in the minors. His role in 2024 will depend on his spring perfomance.

Fantasy impact
Keep rolling Burnes as you were. Now in Baltimore, he could even be in line for additional wins. Hall and Ortiz are not sure bets to win starting roles, but they are worth watching in fantasy baseball leagues as the 2024 season goes on.
