Ramirez provides the Orioles with depth in middle relief. Over five MLB seasons, he has managed only middling results (4.31 ERA in 129.1 innings), working primarily in low-leverage situations. The 28-year-old will not be a big contributor.
What does it give the New York Mets
The Mets designated Ramirez for assignment after a poor start to the 2024 season, which included a brief suspension. Rather than losing him for nothing, New York at least got cash in return so as to improve their roster elsewhere.
