GUILLORME GOES TO THE ANGELS
The Los Angeles Angels acquired infielder Luis Guillorme from the Atlanta Braves for a player to be named later.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
Guillorme provides the Angels with infield depth and versatility. The 29-year-old is a career .258 hitter whose skill set does not include much power or speed. But with injuries mounting, LA can deploy Guillorme around the infield and off the bench.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
Guillorme was seeing few at-bats in Atlanta, and they have also brought in another infielder (Zack Short) in a different trade. As a result, Guillorme may have been a candidate to be designated for assignment, so the Braves at least got a future asset for him.
Fantasy impact
While Guillorme will likely receive more playing time with the Angels, his limited abilities at the plate leave him off the fantasy radar.
