TORONTO TRADES BIGGIO TO LA

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired infielder/outfielder Cavan Biggio and cash considerations from the Toronto Blue Jays for pitcher Braydon Fisher.

What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
Biggio has become a super utility player over the last few seasons, so he should be able to add depth off the bench at multiple positions for the Dodgers. So far this season, he has really struggled at the plate, striking out 42 times in 110 at-bats. However, before this season he had been known for a good eye at the plate with some power from the left side. If he can regain his form, he may even see regular playing time with LA.

What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Biggio came up as part of the second-generation players with Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., expected to lead the Jays to success. In a somewhat surprising move, his Blue Jays tenure came to a end after being designated for assignment. In Fisher, the Jays get a player who has already transitioned into a reliever at the minor-league level. His best quality is his high strikeout rate (30K in 19 IP), but he had an inflated ERA of 5.68.

Fantasy impact
Biggio has lost all of his fantasy value after his slow start to the 2024 season. If he can regain his form, he may be a streamer option, but other than that leave him on the waiver wire. Fisher has no fantasy value at present time.
