What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
A right-handed reliever, Selby will provide Baltimore with bullpen depth. The 26-year-old has been ineffective in MLB, allowing 26 earned runs in 27 career innings. He does have good strikeout ability and can limit hits, but walks are his downfall.
What does it give the Kansas City Royals
Selby spent only a few months with the Royals after a similar trade with the Pirates at the start of the 2024 campaign. Kansas City had just designated him for assignment, and they were able to get back some cash in this transaction.
