CHARGOIS OFF TO SEATTLE
The Seattle Mariners acquired pitcher JT Chargois from the Miami Marlins for pitcher Will Schomberg.
What does it give the Seattle Mariners
Chargois returns to Seattle after pitching there in 2021. He had a late start to 2024 after starting the year on the injured list. He has a 1.62 ERA in 15 games and will add to a remade Seattle bullpen that has new options for manager Scott Servais to use.
What does it give the Miami Marlins
Schomberg is a starter who has been pitching at high Single-A this season. He has pitched in 92.1 innings over 19 starts with great success (2.83 ERA, 116 K). He will add to the Marlins' prospect haul as they continue to sell at the trade deadline.
Fantasy impact
No need to pick up Chargois after this trade. His importance to the Mariners bullpen far outweighs his value in fantasy. He just doesn't pitch in enough high leverage situations. Schomberg isn't fantasy relevant either.
