The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired outfielder Kevin Kiermaier and cash from the Toronto Blue Jays for pitcher Ryan Yarbrough.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
Kiermaier's best asset is his defense. With that being the case, expect fewer starts and a lot of late-game defensive replacement situations for him in LA. He does not hit much but his defense holds value for a World Series contender.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Yarbrough lost his spot on the Dodgers after all of their deadline acquisitions. Toronto knows him well from his time torturing them with the Rays. He is a soft-tossing lefty who can spot-start or pitch out of the bullpen. The Blue Jays needed an MLB arm.
Fantasy impact
Kiermaier's best asset is on the wrong side of the ball for fantasy managers. No value there. Yarbrough has done a nice job carving out a role for himself in MLB. However, that role does not give him any fantasy value.
