The Tampa Bay Rays acquired pitcher Mike Vasil from the Philadelphia Phillies for cash.

Vasil, a right-handed starter, provides the Rays with some extra pitching depth. A 2021 draft pick of the Mets, Vasil has been pitching in the minors, and had just been selected by the Phillies in the Rule 5 Draft.
What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies selected Vasil with their only pick in the Major League phase of the Rule 5 Draft. Perhaps they had something worked out with the Rays, as they moved Vasil for cash immediately afterward.
Fantasy impact
Vasil has never had impressive numbers in the minor leagues, so he is unlikely to be a factor in fantasy leagues if he earns a roster spot with the Rays.
