Robinson provides the Angels with catching depth heading into the 2025 season. The 30-year-old has spent most of his career in the minors. He earned a few MLB call-ups in recent seasons but has not found much success at the plate.
What does it give the Chicago White Sox
The White Sox upgraded their catching depth in a separate trade (for Matt Thaiss) shortly before this one. As a result, Robinson moved down the depth chart and was a better fit in the Angels organization. Chicago picked up some cash in return for him.
