RED SOX, WHITE SOX SWAP PITCHERS

The Chicago White Sox acquired pitcher Cam Booser from the Boston Red Sox for pitcher Yhoiker Fajardo.

What does it give the Chicago White Sox
The addition of Booser gives the White Sox some bullpen depth heading into the 2025 season. Booser, 32, is a left-handed reliever who finally made his MLB debut last season in Boston. He was fairly effective, finishing the year with a 3.38 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 42.2 IP. The southpaw should compete for a middle relief role with the White Sox in spring training.

What does it give the Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox brought in left-handers Aroldis Chapman and Justin Wilson in free agency this off-season, which pushed Booser out. After his successful 2024 season, they were able to trade him for Fajardo, a recently signed international prospect. The 18-year-old is a right-handed starter who will continue developing with Boston after a solid 2024 season in Rookie Ball.

Fantasy impact
Booser could pick up the occasional hold with the White Sox, but he is unlikely to be a factor in nearly all fantasy leagues. As for Fajardo, he is still a long way away from getting on the fantasy radar. So this trade will not have much impact.
