BLAKE HUNT GOES BACK TO SEATTLE

The Seattle Mariners acquired catcher Blake Hunt from the Baltimore Orioles for cash.

What does it give the Seattle Mariners
Hunt provides Seattle with much-needed catching depth. The 26-year-old has yet to make his MLB debut, but he could be called up this season, as the Mariners have only two other catchers (Cal Raleigh and Mitch Garver) on their 40-man roster. Hunt returns to the Mariners after a brief stint with the organization last season.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
Hunt's performance dropped off after he joined Baltimore's organization last year. This off-season, they also signed Gary Sanchez to back up Adley Rutschman, so Hunt did not appear to have a shot at making the roster. As a result, the Orioles designated him for assignment and ended up securing some cash for him with this trade.

Fantasy impact
If Hunt spends time with the Mariners this season, it will be in a backup role. So this trade will not have a fantasy impact.
