The Florida Marlins acquired pitcher Luke Hagerty from the Baltimore Orioles for a player to be named later.

What does it give the Miami Marlins
It was something of a surprise that the Cubs left Hagerty, a quality young lefty, exposed in the Rule 5 draft. He was selected by the Orioles, then dealt to Florida. He's got great size and stuff and could be a quality starter some day.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles lost nothing but a little cash here, so if they can get a decent minor-leaguer in return, that would be fine.
