RANGERS ACQUIRE RELIEVER UEHARA

The Texas Rangers acquired pitcher Koji Uehara from the Baltimore Orioles for infielder Chris Davis and pitcher Tommy Hunter.

What does it give the Texas Rangers
The Rangers have been seeking bullpen help for a while. Closer Neftali Feliz hasn't been great this season, and he will eventually find his way into the starting rotation in all likelihood. Uehara gives Texas manager Ron Washington another option in the ninth inning, or a superb setup man. That said, the Rangers paid a steep price for a 36-year-old reliever.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
Davis has been stuck in Texas for a while now, after originally flopping when given a starting job. He can play third base, but is more likely to become Baltimore's first baseman (at least on a trial basis). Hunter gives Baltimore a badly needed arm, albeit an average one. He will probably start for the O's right away.
