REDS, ROX SWAP RELIEVERS

The Colorado Rockies acquired pitcher Juan Acevedo from the Cincinnati Reds for pitcher Allan Simpson.

What does it give the Colorado Rockies
Acevedo has pretty good command and used it spending most of 2004 in the Reds' rotation. With the Rockies, he'll start out in the minors but could be called up to the big-league rotation if they suffer injuries.

What does it give the Cincinnati Reds
Simpson has plenty of size and puts it behind a hot fastball. He had mixed results in middle relief with the Rockies last year and will try to hone his skills a little more in the minors with the Reds.
