PADRES, TRIBE SWAP RELIEVERS

The San Diego Padres acquired pitcher Mike Adams from the Cleveland Indians for pitcher Brian Sikorski.

What does it give the San Diego Padres
It wasn't long ago that the Brewers thought of Adams as their closer of the future. But the lanky righty struggled with the Brewers early this year and hasn't resurfaced in the majors with two other organizations this year (Mets and Indians). He's got good stuff but he's got to get everything working together in order to re-establish himself as a big-league setup man.

What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
Sikorski, a big veteran righty, spent much of the past five seasons as a solid reliever in Japan. The Padres thought they'd give him another shot on this side of the pond, but he proved a little too hittable. The Indians see his potential, so he'll have to make the most of his opportunity there.
