O'S ADD BACKUP CATCHER SNYDER

The Baltimore Orioles acquired catcher Chris Snyder from the Los Angeles Angels for pitcher Rob Delaney.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
In Snyder, the O's add a solid veteran backup catcher for young star {P Matt Wieters}. He isn't expected to play a lot but should help curb the drop in production from the catching position whenever Wieters is out of the lineup.

What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels are content with catchers {P Chris Iannetta} and {P Hank Conger}, so they moved Snyder along for journeyman reliever Delaney, who is merely going to serve as organizational depth for the Angels at this time.

Fantasy impact
Snyder has some pop in his bat but he'll only be useful if Wieters goes down to injury. He's a pretty good pickup as a handcuff for most Wieters owners. As for Delaney, there's nothing to see here.
