BUCS ADD OUTFIELDER SNIDER

The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired outfielder Travis Snider from the Toronto Blue Jays for pitcher Brad Lincoln.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates are contending this season, but they still need some more help on offense. They hope Snider can provide it, since he has great upside with the stick. He has endured an up-and-down career so far in the bigs, but has a lot of power. He should get a chance to play every day in one of Pittsburgh's outfield corners.

What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Lincoln has found his big-league niche as a quality reliever, which is where the Blue Jays expect to utilize him as well. He could wind up setting up Toronto closer Casey Janssen for the rest of 2012. Lincoln has a good arm, so he may eventually return to the starting rotation (or be used as a closer).
