The Oakland Athletics acquired pitcher Pat Neshek from the Baltimore Orioles for cash.
What does it give the Oakland Athletics
Neshek is a veteran side-winding righty who has had a lot of big-league success in the past (most notably with Minnesota), but injuries have derailed his career to some extent. However, he could be very useful for Oakland down the stretch.
What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The Orioles are fading in the American League East, so they decided to essentially sell off Neshek at this time. They will receive some cash back, which is pretty good for a player who wasn't even on Baltimore's 40-man roster this year.
Fantasy impact
Neshek may get a chance to set up in Oakland for the remainder of this season, but his fantasy impact will be minimal. He won't log a lot of innings, either.
