RANGERS ADD NOESI FOR PITCHING DEPTH

The Texas Rangers acquired pitcher Hector Noesi from the Seattle Mariners for cash.

What does it give the Texas Rangers
In Noesi, the Rangers get a versatile right-hander who should be able to help the big-league squad in the short term, since they've been hit by injuries to the pitching staff in the early going. He might start out as a reliever but could even earn a few starts with Texas this season.

What does it give the Seattle Mariners
The Mariners had designated Noesi for assignment recently, as there wasn't much room for him. So, they were able to acquire a future asset or cash for his services. Noesi lost out on a spot in the 'pen to the likes of {P Dominic Leone} and {P Lucas Luetge}.

Fantasy impact
Noesi would see a spike in his fantasy value if he landed in the Rangers' rotation. Otherwise, he's a major long shot for fantasy points. He's now 27, so time could be running out for him to make his mark.
