YANKEES ACQUIRE LEFTY CAPUANO

The New York Yankees acquired pitcher Chris Capuano from the Colorado Rockies for cash.

What does it give the New York Yankees
Veteran southpaw Capuano may get a chance to start in the big leagues once again after this move to the Bronx, thanks to the Yankees' plethora of injuries in the rotation ({P Masahiro Tanaka}, {P CC. Sabathia}, {P Michael Pineda} and {P Ivan Nova}). Otherwise, he'll be used in long relief like fellow journeymen lefties {P David Huff} and {P Jeff Francis}.

What does it give the Colorado Rockies
The Rockies decided against promoting Capuano despite their own injury issues in the rotation, so the writing was on the wall for a trade here. Colorado will go with younger starting pitchers moving forward, so there was no need to keep Capuano (who turns 36 next month) around. The Rox will receive some cash in this deal.

Fantasy impact
Capuano has never had good fantasy value, so at this point in his career it's almost completely invisible. Don't bother with him.
