A'S ADD RELIEVER DE LA ROSE FROM ARIZONA

The Oakland Athletics acquired pitcher Eury De La Rosa from the Arizona Diamondbacks for cash.

What does it give the Oakland Athletics
Oakland knows how to find diamonds in the rough, so this could be yet another example. De La Rosa is still only 24 years old and totals 44 big-league appearances out of the bullpen, so he may be primed for a breakthrough with the A's. This is a nice pickup.

What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
The D'backs had designated De La Rosa for assignment, so clearly he was no longer in their long-range plans. As a result, they moved him to Oakland and received some cash for their troubles. It's always good when you receive something for nothing in pro sports.

Fantasy impact
De La Rosa could be a fantasy sleeper reliever in 2015, so he should be on the radar moving forward. Oakland is notorious for moving players in and out of the organization, so he might get a chance to pitch in the late innings at some point.
