CUBS GET RP HUNTER FOR OF LAKE

The Chicago Cubs acquired pitcher Tommy Hunter from the Baltimore Orioles for outfielder Junior Lake.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The Cubs lost Neil Ramirez to injury recently so they wanted to sure up their bullpen-by-committee approach. Enter Hunter, who wasn't being used as prominently in Baltimore this season but who is still only 29 years old. He could be used in high-leverage situations down the stretch.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
For the Orioles, they moved out a player from a position of strength (bullpen) in order to fill a void (right-handed outfielders) by acquiring Lake. The latter has untapped potential but it wasn't going to come to fruition in Chicago, where they have an abundance of young talent. He could platoon in Baltimore.

Fantasy impact
Both Hunter and Lake see their fantasy value improve after this deal. Hunter should get more hold (and possibly a few save) chances in Chicago, while Lake could wind up back in the bigs quickly with Baltimore (and play a role as a platoon corner outfielder).
