TRIBE TAKE A CHANCE ON MICHAEL CHOICE

The Cleveland Indians acquired outfielder Michael Choice from the Texas Rangers for cash.

What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
Once considered a top prospect with the Oakland Athletics, Choice struggled during his time with the Rangers and was never able to solidify a permanent spot in the lineup. He may get the opportunity to try again in Cleveland, who have openings in the outfield (and possibly at DH, as well).

What does it give the Texas Rangers
The Rangers had designated Choice for assignment recently and essentially gave up on the outfielder, so at least they were able to get some money back in this transaction. In the end, the 25-year-old Texan's stint with the Rangers was less than memorable (to say the least).

Fantasy impact
Choice could still be on the fantasy radar, but just barely. He's a dark horse until he becomes a more consistent player at the big-league level. He has nothing left to prove in the minors, so expect Cleveland to give him another opportunity soon.
