GIANTS ADD OF DEPTH IN DE AZA

The San Francisco Giants acquired outfielder Alejandro de Aza from the Boston Red Sox for pitcher Luis Ysla.

What does it give the San Francisco Giants
With right-fielder Hunter Pence currently sidelined with an oblique injury, plus center-fielder Angel Pagan's latest stint on the disabled list, the Giants are looking for more outfield depth. Enter De Aza, who can play all three outfield positions. Expect the veteran to serve as the fourth outfielder down the stretch.

What does it give the Boston Red Sox
For the Red Sox, this deal allows the team to further evaluate the likes of Rusney Castillo, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Mookie Betts, while also adding another pitching prospect in Ysla. The latter is a minor-league reliever who could become a situational left-hander at the big-league level with a bit more seasoning.

Fantasy impact
De Aza's playing time will be a bit scattered down the stretch with San Francisco, so his fantasy stock is trending in the wrong direction. Ysla has minimal future fantasy value, too.
