CUBS ADD AUSTIN JACKSON FOR OF DEPTH

The Chicago Cubs acquired outfielder Austin Jackson and cash from the Seattle Mariners for a player to be named later.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
Jackson is likely a short-term addition to the Cubs down the stretch, as he probably won't play center field regularly (as has been his custom in MLB with both Detroit and Seattle) because of the presence of Dexter Fowler. Instead, Jackson should see time in right field during the absence of Jorge Soler (oblique, 15-dau DL).

What does it give the Seattle Mariners
For the Mariners, this move continues their commitment to rebuilding the franchise. Jackson was the team's starting center-fielder, so they should receive a decent player in return (eventually). The international bonus money will also help with Seattle's retooling moving forward.

Fantasy impact
Jackson's fantasy value takes a massive hit here because he might wind up Chicago's fourth outfielder once Soler returns. He is a good bet to be playing elsewhere (probably in center field) in 2016.
