BLUE JAYS, A'S SWAP RIGHT-HANDERS
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired pitcher Jesse Chavez from the Oakland Athletics for pitcher Liam Hendriks.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
In a swap of versatile right-handers, the Jays get Chavez (who could be a solid candidate to join their rotation in 2016). If not, Chavez will be a solid plug-and-play reliever who can be used in virtually any game situation.
What does it give the Oakland Athletics
Hendriks has established himself as a reliever with Toronto, so that should be his role in Oakland (though he can also revert back to being a starter, if need be). The Australian right-hander gives the Athletics options.
Fantasy impact
Chavez has more fantasy value than Hendriks, provided he is used as a starter next season (and Hendriks is NOT used as a closer). Both players could see their value rise significantly in 2016.
