INDIANS TAKE A CHANCE ON COLLIN COWGILL

The Cleveland Indians acquired outfielder Collin Cowgill from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for cash.

What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
The Tribe might have openings in the outfield when spring training rolls around, so Cowgill may have landed in an ideal place. More of a platoon outfielder, look for Cowgill to settle into a backup role when the dust settles in 2016.

What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels were likely to let Cowgill go rather than tender him a contract before the deadline, so at least they were able to find a taker for his services. The Angels will look for better options for left field on the free agent market.

Fantasy impact
Cowgill's fantasy value remains rather stagnant, as he has never really shown enough consistency to play every day. Can that change in Cleveland? It's possible, but unlikely.
