ORIOLES ADD LEFT-HANDER OLMOS

The Baltimore Orioles acquired pitcher Edgar Olmos from the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
With veteran left-hander Brian Matusz (back) currently sidelined, the Orioles felt the need to acquire another southpaw for their bullpen. Enter Olmos, who will likely serve a long man role if he makes the club out of spring training.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The Cubs felt comfortable with their bullpen situation (specifically, their left-handed relievers), so they shipped Olmos to the Orioles for a future asset. Chicago still has Travis Wood and Clayton Richard (among others) as lefty relievers.

Fantasy impact
Don't look for Olmos to carry much in the way of fantasy value in Baltimore, as he is basically a depth reliever at this point.
