ANGELS LAND LEFT-HANDER CHRIS JONES

The Los Angeles Angels acquired pitcher Chris Jones from the Baltimore Orioles for outfielder Natanael Delgado and infielder Erick Salcedo.

What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels are currently fairly thin in terms of starting pitching depth, especially due to injuries to left-handers Tyler Skaggs and C.J. Wilson. Furthermore, veteran right-hander Jered Weaver is a major question mark heading into 2016. Therefore, Jones should provide valuable depth for the LA rotation this season.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
The key to the trade from a Baltimore perspective is clearly Delgado, a toolsy outfielder who is still only 20 years old. Meanwhile, Salcedo will provide organizational infield depth. This is a solid return for a pitcher (Jones) who was designated for assignment recently and has limited long-range upside.

Fantasy impact
Jones is not expected to be much of a fantasy factor even if he becomes a regular rotation member in Orange County. Delgado could have some future appeal but he is several years away from fantasy relevance. As for Salcedo, he has no fantasy value to speak of.
