WHITE SOX ADD PITCHING DEPTH IN RANAUDO

The Chicago White Sox acquired pitcher Anthony Ranaudo from the Texas Rangers for pitcher Matt Ball.

What does it give the Chicago White Sox
The Pale Hose don't have great starting pitching depth beyond their current rotation, so they are hoping the 26-year-old Ranaudo can help in this area. Ranaudo has big-league experience as both a starter and reliever but struggled earlier in 2016 with Texas.

What does it give the Texas Rangers
The Rangers decided to give up on Ranaudo and instead take a flier on the younger Ball, a towering right-hander who was pitching out of the bullpen at low Single-A Kannapolis this season. It's a solid acquisition for the Rangers, as Ranaudo has limited upside.

Fantasy impact
Ranaudo should not be on the fantasy radar since he is merely a depth swingman for the White Sox. Ball should be on the radar but won't become a factor for several more campaigns.
