YANKS GET RHP GRAHAM FROM MINNESOTA

The New York Yankees acquired pitcher J.R. Graham from the Minnesota Twins for cash.

What does it give the New York Yankees
Graham has struggled mightily this season (and struggled mostly for the past three seasons) but the Yankees obviously see something in the undersized right-hander. Perhaps it's the strong 2012 campaign he posted in the lower minors (going 12-2 with a 2.80 ERA over 26 starts), but since then Graham has worked mostly as a reliever. He might start again now that he's with the Bronx Bombers.

What does it give the Minnesota Twins
Minnesota obviously doesn't get much from this deal, but does at least free up some roster space for a more productive player. Graham is an aging prospect who wasn't developing as hoped, but fans will miss his inspirational story of wearing old-school stirrups on the mound (something he does so his mother, who is legally blind, can identify him on the field).

Fantasy impact
Graham will likely be a long reliever if he manages to turn things around in the minors for the Yankees, so there isn't much fantasy impact with this deal.
