BLUE JAYS ADD RELIEVER GRILLI TO HELP 'PEN

The Toronto Blue Jays acquired pitcher Jason Grilli and cash from the Atlanta Braves for pitcher Sean Ratcliffe.

What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Veteran Grilli, now 39, has struggled a bit this season with the Braves but should still be able to help Toronto's beleaguered bullpen. Grilli, who registered two saves and 23 strikeouts in 17 innings in the National League so far in 2016, will likely be used in the eighth inning to set up young closer Roberto Osuna.

What does it give the Atlanta Braves
The Braves are going nowhere this season and are quite clearly in rebuilding mode. Therefore, it makes a ton of sense to deal away a 39-year-old late-inning reliever for a pitching prospect. Ratcliffe owns a projectable 6-4 frame and is only 21 years old, so he is a nice pickup for Atlanta at this point in the season.

Fantasy impact
Ratcliffe might be a consideration now in very deep keeper leagues so he should at least be on the fantasy radar. As for Grilli, he might be a decent source of holds for a potential contender in Toronto but beware his move from NL to AL (as well as his early-season struggles).
