DODGERS ACQUIRE JESSE CHAVEZ

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired pitcher Jesse Chavez from the Toronto Blue Jays for pitcher Mike Bolsinger.

What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers are becoming Oakland-south, literally, and Chavez is just another former Athletics player that Dodgers GM Farhan Zaidi (formerly with Oakland) has acquired in recent months. Look for Chavez to pitch out of the Dodgers' bullpen, perhaps even in high-leverage situations.

What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays get some starting pitching insurance here with Bolsinger, who is still only 28 years old and a decent arm. He has not had much success in the big leagues, so far, but perhaps a chance of scenery will help him. At worst, he may be able to fill a role in long relief.

Fantasy impact
Chavez may have a reasonable spike in fantasy value if he pitches in the later innings with Los Angeles, while Bolsinger's fantasy stock remains stuck in neutral.
