CUBS ADD TO THE 'PEN, GET RIGHTY JOE SMITH

The Chicago Cubs acquired pitcher Joe Smith from the Los Angeles Angels for pitcher Jesus Castillo.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The Cubs are clearly going for a World Series title, and currently boast an embarrassment of riches in their bullpen. Smith will probably pitch the eighth inning in front of Aroldis Chapman as the likely new setup man. He could make a major impact.

What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels get a pretty solid pitching prospect in Castillo here, as the 20-year-old right-hander has looked good at low Single-A ball this season. The Halos are not going anywhere this season, so trading a reliever for a pitching prospect makes great sense.

Fantasy impact
Castillo should now be on the keeper-league radar, but he is several years away from MLB. As for Smith, his fantasy stock gets a boost in leagues that utilize holds and loses some value in leagues that do not.
