BOSOX ADD McKENRY

The Boston Red Sox acquired catcher Michael McKenry from the Colorado Rockies for pitcher Daniel Turpen.

What does it give the Boston Red Sox
McKenry provides a little added catching depth to the Red Sox organization. He could see time in the big leagues this season should anything happen to either Jarrod Saltalamacchia or Jason Varitek.

What does it give the Colorado Rockies
Turpen is a reliever with pretty good stuff. He gives the Rockies another possibility for their bullpen down the line, though not likely this season. Colorado has catching depth, so they shouldn't miss McKenry too badly.
