The Kansas City Royals acquired pitcher Roman Colon from the Detroit Tigers for pitcher Daniel Christensen.
What does it give the Kansas City Royals
Always on the lookout for a decent arm, the Royals will let Colon recover from neck surgery, which has kept him on the shelf all year. He's a big righty with hard stuff who hasn't had a ton of success in the majors, but could give the Royals decent innings in the rotation or middle relief.
What does it give the Detroit Tigers
This trade comes 10 days after Colon was arrested for punching a Tigers prospect down at Triple-A Toledo, breaking bones in his face. This trade appears to be just a matter of getting him out of the organization.
