ANDERSON FOR VILLARREAL

The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Josh Anderson from the Houston Astros for pitcher Oscar Villarreal.

What does it give the Atlanta Braves
Anderson may turn out to be a steal for the Braves, who have lacked speed at the top of their batting order since former shortstop Rafael Furcal bolted for Los Angeles. With Andruw Jones gone via free agency, Anderson is one of the candidates to fill the void in center field.

What does it give the Houston Astros
In Villarreal, the Astros have added an innings-eater for the middle of their bullpen. He'll join another recent addition, fellow right-hander Geoff Geary, in middle relief. Anderson's place within the Houston organization became redundant following the acquisition of Michael Bourn from Philadelphia.
