FELIZ OFF TO CARDS
The St. Louis Cardinals acquired infielder Pedro Feliz and cash from the Houston Astros for pitcher David Carpenter.
What does it give the St. Louis Cardinals
Feliz should provide depth at the hot corner for the Cardinals, who have Felipe Lopez and not much else at that position at present time. Feliz was a major dud in Houston, but perhaps he can rebound with the Cards.
What does it give the Houston Astros
The Astros handed the third-base job to young Chris Johnson a while back, and he hasn't disappointed. Therefore, they took what they could get in exchange for the disappointing Feliz. Carpenter isn't much of a prospect.
