Villanueva is versatile, so he could be a valuable man to have on Toronto's pitching staff in 2011. Since the Blue Jays have a few young starters with injury concerns, Villanueva might wind up starting a handful of games. However, his main job will likely be as a middle reliever.
What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers tried Villanueva in a variety of roles, and he was fairly successful overall. However, they've decided to go in a different direction this time around, so they'll receive a prospect in return for their versatile right-hander. It'll now be up to the Brewers to replace Villanueva.
