THUNDER ADDS BIG MAN LAUVERGNE FROM NUGGETS

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired power forward / center Joffrey Lauvergne from the Denver Nuggets for two protected second-round draft picks in 2017.

What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder continue to look for pieces in the wake of the decision of former superstar Kevin Durant to sign with the Golden State Warriors. Lauvergne is a fairly talented 24-year-old French player who joins a crowded group of big men in Oklahoma City.

What does it give the Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets did not feel the need to keep Lauvergne, the 55th overall pick in 2013 acquired via trade from Memphis, any longer. Lauvergne was behind Kenneth Faried, Nikola Jokic, Jusuf Nurkic and Darrell Arthur on the depth chart. He needed a change.

Fantasy impact
Lauvergne's fantasy value may not get much better in Oklahoma City than it was in Denver, mainly due to the numbers game once again. He enters 2016-17 as a fantasy dark horse, at best.
