SIXERS MOVE NOEL TO MAVS FOR BOGUT, ANDERSON, PICK

The Dallas Mavericks acquired center/power forward Nerlens Noel from the Dallas Mavericks for center Andrew Bogut, swingman Justin Anderson, and a top-18-protected 1st-round draft pick in 2017.

What does it give the Dallas Mavericks
Great pickup here by the Mavs. Noel is a star-level and fairly unique NBA big man with significant untapped talent, and he can help Dallas both fight for a playoff spot and build for the future. Bogut simply wasn't a good fit for Big D playing alongside Dirk Nowitzki, and Noel should flourish with the new opportunity to start. Dallas additionally holds Noel's restricted free agency rights (and thereby the right to pay him more than other NBA teams) so Mavs fans should be delighted with this swap.

What does it give the Philadelphia 76ers
Nice move all-round by the Sixers. The key here was landing the first-round pick and freeing up the glut Philly has at center (and Bogut will probably be flipped to another team soon). There were just not enough minutes to go around for Noel, Joel Embiid, and Jahlil Okafor to play regularly and develop ideally, so Noel is the odd man out (assuming Okafor sticks around). Meanwhile Anderson gives the youthful Sixers added energy and options on the wing.

Fantasy impact
Noel is the only player who benefits notably from this trade in the fantasy realm. He should step in right away as Dallas' new starting center, and should be snapped up in pretty much all fantasy formats for his rebounds, blocks, steals, and field-goal percentage.
