MEMPHIS MAKES A MOVE IN ROUND 2, GETS OREGON'S BROOKS

The Memphis Grizzlies acquired a 2nd-round draft pick in 2017 (No. 45 overall, swingman Dillon Brooks) from the Houston Rockets for a future 2nd-round draft pick.

What does it give the Houston Rockets
Houston is a contending team, so saving money is key to them and second-round picks are less likely to be relevant for the Rockets than for many other teams. With that in mind, they lose little in sending No. 45 overall to the Grizz and get a future second-rounder in return.

What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
Brooks is a perfect fit for the Grizzlies' team identity, in that Memphis tends to love feisty players who can excel in a half-court game. Along with Ivan Rabb, Brooks is a smart and underrated pick by the Grizzlies in Round 2.

Fantasy impact
Brooks is probably more NBA-ready than several first-rounders in this year's draft, but the Grizzlies are a fairly deep and veteran squad (so expecting much fantasy-wise in Year 1 isn't wise). As far as keeper league / dynasty value goes, Brooks isn't a top-tier athlete so he projects to be more role player than star as a pro (once he finds his NBA niche down the road).
