HOUSTON PICKS UP SHAWN LONG FROM PHILLY

The Houston Rockets acquired center/power forward Shawn Long from the Philadelphia 76ers for a second-round draft pick in 2018 and cash.

What does it give the Houston Rockets
Long showed some promise as a rookie last season in limited minutes, putting up some impressive numbers when given a chance to play. That said, it'll be surprising if he's a regular rotation player for Houston in the coming campaign. Moreover, recent moves by Houston management suggest Long's contract may be used in further deals this summer.

What does it give the Philadelphia 76ers
The young Sixers are suddenly flush with young talent throughout the lineup, and although Long made a good impression last season he didn't project as a regular for Philly had he remained with the team. With that in mind, the 76ers do a nice job of saving money and getting a draft pick for a player they didn't even draft.

Fantasy impact
There's no clear fantasy impact here because it's highly unclear where Long will end up before next season.
