MILWAUKEE MOVES VAUGHN TO NETS, GETS TYLER ZELLER

The Milwaukee Bucks acquired center / power forward Tyler Zeller from the Brooklyn Nets for guard / forward Rashad Vaughn and a conditional 2nd-round draft pick in 2018.

What does it give the Brooklyn Nets
This is yet another underrated and impressive move by Nets GM Sean Marks. Not only does he land an expiring contract here in Vaughn's, but he also adds another draft pick for Brooklyn's ongoing rebuild. In pure basketball terms, this move also opens up more playing time for fast-improving young centers Jarrett Allen and Jahlil Okafor. Expect the latter duo to see most of the reps at center the rest of this season.

What does it give the Milwaukee Bucks
Zeller is a very solid offensive big man who can give the playoff-hopeful Bucks some much-needed frontcourt depth. His contract isn't expensive, but the fact Milwaukee gave up both a draft pick and an expiring deal (Vaughn's) suggests the team is fairly desperate to qualify for the postseason. Zeller's contract has one more year on it after this one.

Fantasy impact
This trade makes Nets centers Jarrett Allen and Jahlil Okafor more appealing fantasy-wise for the rest of this season. Zeller's negligible fantasy value probably stays static (because he's unlikely to have a big role anytime soon on his new squad), while Vaughn's fantasy fortunes continue to flatline (especially since he's joining an already-guard-rich young Nets team).
