DETROIT STILL SWAPPING, ADDS ENNIS

The Detroit Pistons acquired forward/guard James Ennis III from the Memphis Grizzlies for forward/center Brice Johnson and a future second-round draft pick.

What does it give the Detroit Pistons
The Pistons have been busy traders this year, and Ennis provides yet another good shooter for Stan Van Gundy's perimeter-focused offense. Ennis was somewhat a forgotten man in the Memphis rotation this season, but he's proven in the past he can be a good scorer and defender. This is a sneaky-good depth add by Detroit.

What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
For Memphis this move is all about dropping a bit of salary and adding a draft pick. Johnson has a lot of untapped talent and might even have NBA starter ability, but he doesn't appear to be in the Grizzlies' long-term plans (and becomes a free agent this summer).

Fantasy impact
Ennis can help the Pistons make the playoffs, but don't expect him to be a big part of the rotation soon. He's projected to be stuck behind Reggie Bullock, Stanley Johnson, and Luke Kennard. Ergo, wait and see how the Detroit wing rotation shakes out before snapping up Ennis. Johnson has zero fantasy value at this point, and the loss of Ennis has little to no impact on the fantasy fortunes of the remaining Grizzlies.
