PURVIS PACKS HIS BAGS AGAIN, HEADS TO BOSTON FOR NADER

The Oklahoma City Thunder acquired swingman Abdel Nader and cash from the Boston Celtics for shooting guard Rodney Purvis.

What does it give the Boston Celtics
For Boston this move is simply about saving some money from the NBA's luxury tax. Nader's $1.4 million contract would have been guaranteed on August 1st, while Purvis has no money guaranteed on his pact. So, no surprisingly Purvis is expected to be waived by the Celtics.

What does it give the Oklahoma City Thunder
Nader is an underrated, well-rounded, versatile, and athletic wing who was the NBA G-League's Rookie of the Year in 2016-17. He possesses untapped talent, and has a solid chance to push for a second unit spot in the OKC rotation this coming season.

Fantasy impact
It's not yet known if Purvis will even play in the NBA next season, so he obviously has no fantasy value. As for Nader, he might provide some very deep sleeper appeal if he wins regular minutes with the Thunder, but don't expect much in the coming campaign.
